What modifications will be made to the DGA certification program?

The Danish Gambling Authority (DGA), also known as Spillemyndigheden, has recently made updates to its certification program for online gambling, land-based betting, and online casinos. These changes are expected to take effect in 2022, along with an updated standard report. While an exact date has not been confirmed yet, the DGA is preparing for the implementation of the updated certification.

What can we expect to see different starting in the year 2022?

The Danish Gaming Authority (DGA) has made several modifications to their language and updated some of their guidance texts.

In addition to that, several noteworthy modifications and enhancements have been implemented. The exclusion of the prerequisite for three years of experience in a testing institution has been eliminated due to its hindrance to the certification process in accordance with the certification program.

After careful consideration, the DGA has made the decision to prioritize the individuals actively engaged in the actual work, rather than solely focusing on the age of the company. As a result, the requirements regarding employee experience will continue to be upheld.

What factors are considered

The certification program for consulting encompasses a wide range of subjects, such as risk evaluation, deadlines for reporting and license requests. Additionally, it covers the prerequisites for vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, along with the standards for testing and anticipated outcomes.

The DGA noted that in the future, the DGA's technical requirements for casinos and online betting will include the description of situations where prior approval from the DGA is necessary for new and modified games, instead of the certification program. At the same time as the updated certification program, a new version of the technical requirements will be published.

In order to ensure accurate and complete game data reporting, it is essential for the license holder to obtain prior approval. Failure to meet the current data reporting requirements for new games may necessitate extensive system development on the part of the DGA.
