In Las Vegas, over the course of Friday night and Saturday, the World Series of Poker witnessed an impressive display of skill by the English player Jonathan Pastore, who emerged as the victorious champion after a grueling 3-hour demonstration of his poker prowess. It is worth noting that just two weeks prior to this remarkable victory, it was another Englishman, Léo Soma, who triumphed in the 6-Max WSOP tournament.

This is the 34th time that France has claimed victory in the WSOP bracelet, and it's the second time for Orleans Poker Club. Elie Payan was the first to secure this accomplishment a few years back. On the second day of the tournament, Jonathan expressed his gratitude, stating, "Having all my friends supporting me from behind really made a difference. We're a tight-knit group of friends from Malta, with many of us hailing from amateur clubs in France. It feels incredible to see these two worlds coming together today."
Stephen Song, who was in second place, possessed exactly half of the chips when we reached the morning of the final stage. Finding my rhythm against him on Day 3 proved to be quite challenging, but as the night unfolded, the task became much simpler for me. While managing the initial phase of the tournament was a bit convoluted, it eventually became a seamless process with no major decisions weighing on my shoulders. Reflecting on the experience, I must admit that playing against Stephen Song for the coveted bracelet was an exhilarating moment, for he is a player whom I deeply admire. It is my sincerest hope that the poker community will witness the rise of more exceptional players like him. As for my own aspirations, I aim to maintain my focus and eagerly participate in the upcoming scheduled tournaments.
Elie Payan emerged victorious in the initial competition, a triumph that took place numerous years in the past.
I don't plan on participating in high-stakes games; instead, I want to focus on investing and familiarizing myself with different strategies for playing these tournaments in the coming year. There's a lot of work I need to do in this area. Additionally, I'll need to continue playing online as well.
