The bid for a casino in New York has increased.

The project I'm about to share with you is quite an interesting one, as not much information has been revealed yet. However, it seems to involve the development of an expansive hotel, equipped with a plethora of recreational amenities, alongside a dedicated casino area. With a substantial budget of $3 billion, the project's ultimate objective is to generate approximately 2,500 job opportunities, providing valuable employment to many individuals.

As the governor of the state, Kathy Hochul, plans to issue three casino licenses for the development of the region, a group of investors has gathered with the intention of seizing this imminent opportunity. These licenses can be granted to establishments situated in various locations within the southern region, encompassing the lower Hudson Valley and Long Island. The investors are eagerly anticipating the issuance of these licenses, eagerly awaiting the chance to capitalize on this lucrative prospect.

A continuously expanding roster of potential partners

In my opinion, Thor Equities has entered the race to obtain a casino license, joining a group of interested individuals. Interestingly, Steve Cohen, the esteemed owner of the New York Mets, is engaging in discussions with Hard Rock regarding a potential offer in the neighborhood of Queens. On another note, Wynn Resorts has put forth a proposal for a casino located in Hudson Yards, which lies to the west of Manhattan. Additionally, Caesars Entertainment has expressed its interest in establishing a casino in the bustling area of Times Square.

By January 6, 2024, the Application for Candidacy (RFA) will be released by the NY State Gaming Commission. After the submission of applications, the new NY Gaming Facility Location Board will proceed to review them.
