Since December 15, 2020, casinos have had the freedom to open at their own discretion. In order to curb the spread of infection within these establishments, certain restrictions have been implemented. It is anticipated that these restrictions will gradually be lifted in the coming days, much like the easing of restrictions seen across Europe.
As of May 19, 2024, casinos will regain permission to resume their operations.
After a long and anxious wait of over eight months, the fate of casinos has finally been revealed: starting from the 19th of May, 2024, they will once again be permitted to reopen and resume their operations.
Nevertheless, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, the Secretary of State for Tourism, indicated that the public will not have immediate access to all casino establishments.
From June 9th onwards, the gaming tables and their staff will resume their activity, allowing the casinos to accommodate up to 50% of the public. It is worth noting that the reopening will be gradual, starting with a 35% capacity and only allowing the operation of slot machines.
Only when the sanitary conditions permit it, they are able to cater to all of their patrons starting from June 30.
